Artist Profile

Photography is an interest that meshes very well with two of my other likings - worldwide travel and the great outdoors. While I have been shooting pictures since the early 80s, I haven't really done it with focus until the latter part of the 90s when I took some classes and started exploring the emerging digital printing processes. While earlier Cibachrome darkroom work had been enlightening, it was the evolution of digital technologies that finally allowed me to control the photographic process from beginning to end - from artistic composition in the field to ultimate control over the printing of the final image.
I was born and grew up in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, studied in Germany and the US, and have been living in the San Francisco Bay Area since the late 80s, working in high technology. Over the following years, I have hiked and explored many National Parks in the US, visited foreign countries, and taken a camera along to record the breathtaking scenery that I encountered. These efforts have resulted in travel and landscape fine art photographic prints. Along the way, I had the privilege to hone my skills with teachers such as Galen Rowell, Frans Lanting, Art Wolfe and David Muench on the artistic side, and Bill Atkinson, Charlie Cramer and Sean Duggan on the technical side.
My main interests currently reside with contemplative landscape photography as well as evocative travel photography.
